Podcast with Ideal Spaces

In this two-part conversation with Ideal Spaces, Jessie Croteau, EDC director of communications, discusses the work of The Ecological Design Collective and the role of art as a motor of social and ecological change.
The conversation explores ecological design as a relational practice that asks how artists, designers, researchers, activists, and communities might work together to imagine and build more just ecological futures. Topics include the possibilities of art in community-building, the need to rethink cities through ecological and socially just frameworks, and the importance of designing with attention to relationships among people, places, and the more-than-human world.
Across both episodes, there is reflection on how ecological design can help us move from critique toward concrete utopian possibilities to produce spaces, practices, and forms of collective life that respond to the political, social, and environmental challenges of the present.
