Thank you for your thoughtful response and for sharing your conversation with Shashawnda Campbell. I just had a chance to read it, and your points about environmental justice collaborations and building relationships really spoke to the questions I’ve been thinking about.

Since I posted this question, I’ve been thinking about how institutional fragmentation can cause not just continuity issues, but also problems with relationships. As you pointed out, institutions sometimes work against one another, compete for resources, or miss opportunities to build long-term trust and collaboration.

I keep wondering whether these challenges are not just organizational but also design challenges. If ecological systems need continuity over space and time, then part of the design challenge may be to create stewardship systems that support relationships, shared responsibility, and collective action across those same scales.

Your thoughts on allyship and building coalitions gave me another angle to consider. Thank you for the reference and for the chance to keep exploring these questions with the EDC community.
