Such an illuminating discussion led this evening at Red Emma’s by @mickel and @Moth . The conversation landed on the importance of building commons that generate value through cooperation: a regenerative circuit of value that works with natural processes and a cultural regeneration enabled by cooperating with each other. Michael is interested in the kind of everyday small-scale doing that can be sustained by reciprocal labor exchanges on the ground in cities like Baltimore. Could this be something that we could help build and sustain via these networks and communication infrastructures we are shaping via the EDC? Thinking, wondering, happy to hear anyone’s thoughts on this!

I’m also really interested in following up on this event! Are Michael and Tim on this website?

I’m the tall guy who unfortunately came in a few minutes late, and made a couple comments at the end but forgot to introduce myself: an advocate focused on urbanism and sustainable transportation.

The ideas presented were a combination and culmination of many subjects I’ve been pondering recently, so I really wanted to stay back and chat afterward but my timing didn’t work out.
