The Jones Falls River has been partially hidden below I-83 for over 50 years, overlooked and mistreated. How might we radically reimagine our river as the center of a reconnected and ecologically vibrant Baltimore?

Jones Falls 2076 is a speculative design project to envision aspirational and quixotic futures for the river in 2076, half a century from now. This series of River Reimagining workshops, art exhibitions, discussions, and publications will encourage radical dreaming and summon collective action on the future of the Jones Falls.

Walk Guide: Bao Nguyen
Bao Nguyen (they/them) is a visual and performance artist born in Vietnam and based in Baltimore. Through performance and sculpture, Bao examines their connections to places that are overlooked, unregulated or uncared for through a persistent process of creative fieldwork and conversations with community members.

In this Dreamwalk, Bao will lead participants through performance prompts and writing reflections. Together, we will imagine the trail as symbols and inspirations for performances. Bao is interested in leading a Dreamwalk along the Jones Falls to envision a nomadic, performance institute along the trail that takes care of people’s emotional needs to move, to relate to the elements along the trail, and to share poetic moments with each other in nature.
