Join artist Sarah Sachs for an intimate afternoon of basket weaving. She will introduce the fundamentals of traditional basket weaving and you will learn everything you need to know to complete your own beautiful basket. All materials will be provided. Sarah was born & raised in Roanoke, VA, moved to Maryland to attend St. Mary’s College of Maryland and received her BA in Studio Art in 2006. In 2008 she received her Master of Art in Digital Art followed by a Master of Fine Art in Photography and Digital Imaging in 2009, both from Maryland Institute College of Art. She has taught sculpture, photography, woodworking, and jewelry at Gilman School, Garrison Forest School, Maryland Institute College of Art as well as Anne Arundel Community College and Howard Community College and has studied craft at the Lamar Dodd School of Art in Cortona, Italy, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, as well as Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.
